Safaricom CIO George Njuguna was the keynote speaker at East Africa Com in Nairobi, Kenya. We sat down at the event to talk about Safaricom's vision for 2030 and how to build East Africa's digital economies while growing technology talent and digital skills.
Njuguna also spoke about plans to train Africa's next 1 million software developers, how to retain tech talent and better foster innovation. He shared Safaricom's strategy to evolve from a telco to a techco and how it wants to evolve its successful mobile money platform, M-Pesa, into a two-sided platform for business and consumers.
