It would certainly look that way, indeed. Smartphone shipments are still increasing, albeit at a far slower rate - so this incremental uptake looks likely to continue for now at least.

Although, if the average selling price of smartphone handsets continues to come down, more people might be compelled to make the leap from feature phone to smartphone - so long as the operators can justify that with decent coverage and a reasonably priced tariff.

Sounds like the challenges might persist though....
If feature phone popularity is surging, it sounds like 4G/LTE smartphoen penetration might be a slow creep in Africa rather than a big bang, no?
