Video: Why SA Is Uniquely Positioned to Benefit From 4IR
The only country not uniquely positioned to take advantage of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) is one without problems. That's the view of Unathi Mtya, chief technology officer at Grindrod Bank, who was speaking at the recent AfricaCom 2019 event in Cape Town.
She told AfricaCom TV why South Africa is uniquely positioned to benefit from the fourth industrial revolution.
"[South Africa] is so uniquely positioned to benefit from this technology in terms of the new jobs it brings, in terms of the societal problems that it solves, as well as developments in education and health. Because we've got such challenges and such a deficit in those areas, we are therefore uniquely positioned to benefit from it -- there is no way we cannot benefit from it."
She also spoke about the technologies and trends that are catching her eye and how companies can improve the digital customer experience for users.
