Connecting Africa marked Women's Month with a Twitter discussion exploring African women in technology and how to succeed in a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
We were joined by: Businesswoman Bisila Bokoko; Zandy Keebine, founder of GirlCode South Africa; Vuyolwethu Dubese, Ecosystem Manager at Thomson Reuters; and Ronell Swartbooi from Sprout Creative, among others. We debated how having too few women in tech is a missed opportunity for African development and discussed the opportunities available for African women branching into technology and tech entrepreneurship.
